Ken Hicks
President and CEOKen Hicks is a seasoned leader with almost 40 years of experience in the retail industry. He joined PetSmart in 2024 as the President & Chief Executive Officer, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in retail strategy, operations, merchandising and customer experience, and a proven track record of driving growth and value creation.
Ken previously served as CEO and Executive Chairman at Academy Sports + Outdoors where they completed an initial public offering. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Foot Locker. In both of these roles, he drove meaningful improvements in customer experience which led to increased sales and profitability and resulted in substantial growth in market value. Before his time at Foot Locker, Ken held senior positions at JC Penney Company, Inc., Payless ShoeSource, Home Shopping Network, May Department Stores Company, and McKinsey & Company.
Ken graduated from The United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the U.S. Army. He also earned an M.B.A. with highest distinction from Harvard Business School. He and his wife Lucy have been married for 50 years and have a Boston Terrier named Skywalker.
Ken serves on the Board of Directors of PetSmart and Academy Sports + Outdoor.
Lacey Bundy
Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and SecretaryLacey Bundy joined PetSmart as SVP, general counsel and corporate secretary in August 2018. Prior to PetSmart, she most recently served as SVP, general counsel and corporate secretary for eight years at Express, Inc. At Express, Lacey oversaw all aspects of the legal department, including litigation, ethics and compliance, corporate governance and transactions. Previously, she worked as a corporate attorney for Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, and as a consultant and certified public accountant for Ernst & Young in New York City.
Lacey earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and a juris doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
Greg Fancher
Executive Vice President of IT and Chief Information Technology OfficerGreg Fancher joined PetSmart as Executive Vice President of IT and Chief Information Technology Officer in January 2023 with more than 25 years of international experience in restaurant and retail industries.
Prior to PetSmart, he served as Chief Technology Officer of EXPRESS Inc. where he led the company’s IT strategy in support of business growth and digital innovation. Previously, Greg served as Chief Information Officer at Taco Bell where he enhanced the customer experience and transformed the IT function. Greg held various IT leadership roles at other companies including lululemon and Gap Inc.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts focusing on economics from Colgate University and his Master of Science in Information Systems from San Francisco State University.
Erick Goldberg
Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources OfficerErick Goldberg first joined PetSmart in 2001 as manager of services recruiting. In 2004, he was appointed director of talent acquisition and associate relations, and in 2009, he became vice president of field Human Resources. Erick was appointed vice president of Human Resources for the store support group and distribution centers in 2012. And in February 2013, he became senior vice president of Human Resources. Prior to joining PetSmart, he was with Distribution Architects International for eight years in various leadership roles including director of Human Resources. He also previously held Human Resources leadership positions at Management Technology America and Triad Systems Corporation.
Erick earned his bachelor’s degree from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California.
David Redfield
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating OfficerDavid Redfield joined PetSmart as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in February 2022. Prior to joining PetSmart, David played an instrumental role helping shape Walmart’s transformational growth, resilient supply chain, talent development and operational excellence. Since 2011, David served as a Business Unit President at Walmart.
David earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas.
Alan Schnaid
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial OfficerAlan Schnaid joined PetSmart in 2017. Prior to PetSmart, he served as chief financial officer of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. where he was responsible for the global finance, accounting, tax, treasury, planning, risk management and investor relations functions. He spent more than 22 years with Starwood in various finance roles, including corporate controller and chief accounting officer. Earlier in his career, he worked for several accounting firms.
Alan serves on the board of CommLoan, Inc., a company that provides a marketplace for lenders and borrowers in the commercial real estate space, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Society.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from California State University, Northridge and later went on to earn his CPA. He resides in Paradise Valley, Ariz. with his wife and three children. They are pet parents to two Golden Retriever rescues, Cheeto and Sheba.
Matt Byrnes
Senior Vice President, Merchandise Planning & Allocation and Global SourcingMatt Byrnes joined PetSmart in 2007 and has more than 15 years of manufacturing and retail experience. Most recently, he has taken on the position of Senior Vice President, Merchandise Planning & Allocation and Global Sourcing. In this role, Matt leads our strategic approach for forecasting, merchandise planning and global supplier management including sourcing, product quality & social compliance.
He has a deep operational understanding of the PetSmart business and has held various leadership roles during his tenure with the company including time in Store Operations, Supply Chain, Merchandising and growing our Proprietary Brands business. He also spent several years in Asia supporting PetSmart’s global sourcing efforts.
Matt graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in Decision Sciences, and later returned to earn an MBA from the university as well. Matt is an executive committee board member for Valley of the Sun United Way. He and his wife have a son and are pet parents to Tegan, a 13-year-old Australian shepherd.
James Elasky
Senior Vice President and Chief MerchantJames Elasky joined PetSmart in February 2020 as Vice President, Merchandising – leading our consumables business including dog and cat food, treats, litter and our online pharmacy.
With over 20 years of experience in the retail industry, James has held various leadership roles across categories including entertainment, toys, sporting goods, electronics, grocery, proprietary brands development and food service operations. Prior to joining PetSmart, James progressed through Merchandising, Planning and Allocation leadership roles at Target.
James earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He lives in Phoenix with his wife, two daughters, and their dog Otis.
Monica Hubbard
Senior Vice President, U.S. StoresMonica Hubbard joined PetSmart in 2016 as Regional Vice President, Northeast, building strong, high-performing teams across our field organization. Most recently, Monica has taken on the role of Senior Vice President, U.S. Stores with oversight of all stores and field teams in the U.S., including Puerto Rico.
With over 25 years of retail operations experience, Monica has worked at some of the most trusted brands including Best Buy and Home Depot. She is equally dedicated to advancing careers through mentorship, fostering professional development and empowering growth for her teams as she is driving strong business results.
Monica is passionate about creating a culture of Belonging where everyone can show up to work as their true selves and is dedicated to destigmatizing mental health issues and promoting wellness initiatives through education, support and advocacy. Personally, Monica extends her commitment to animal welfare, through her pet rescue efforts and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Bryan McCormick
Senior Vice President of Store Strategy and OperationsBryan McCormick, Senior Vice President of Store Strategy and Operations, joined PetSmart in February 2010 where he held several human resources roles before becoming Vice President of Human Resources. After a brief stint as Chief Human Resources Officer at Nextiva in 2017, he returned to PetSmart as Vice President of HR Operations and Total Rewards in 2018. Bryan has more than 25 years of experience in human resources and operations, holding various leadership roles at other companies including Bombardier Aerospace, Core-Mark International and Sam’s Club.
Bryan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and his MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas. He is an active member of his community and a coach to the many sports his kids play. In addition to four kids, he and his wife have three amazing cats to keep the family company.
Ed Oldham
Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Chief Supply Chain OfficerEd Oldham, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Chief Supply Chain Officer, joined PetSmart in May 2022. Prior to PetSmart, he served as Senior Vice President of Inventory and Planning at Petco. Ed has more than 25 years of experience in retail, CPG and consulting. Serving in many different leadership roles at companies including Walmart, Ernst & Young and Walgreens, Ed’s experience spans store operations, transportation, merchandising, replenishment, planning, strategy and program management.
Ed graduated from The University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, later earning his MBA from University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a native of the Nashville area. Ed and his wife April have three children and four British Shorthair cats.
Cherise Ordlock
Senior Vice President of DigitalCherise Ordlock joined PetSmart as Senior Vice President of Digital in Feb. 2021. Most recently, Cherise served as the SVP of Digital at Kohl’s where she drove strong digital revenue growth through digital strategy, site experience and operations, business management, and omni-channel initiatives throughout her tenure. She previously spent eight years at Walgreens where she founded its digital function and served as General Manager of Digital and Omni-channel. Cherise also spent seven years with Boston Consulting Group leading strategic and operational projects for clients across consumer goods, industrial goods, and health care industries.
Cherise earned an MBA and MEM (Masters in Engineering Management) from the Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Industrial Engineering with a secondary major in Economics from Northwestern University. She and her husband have a daughter and are looking forward to adding a puppy to their family.
Ryan O’Sullivan
Senior Vice President, Real EstateRyan joined PetSmart in October 2006 as a real estate research analyst. Since then, he has held many leadership positions in our real estate business before becoming Senior Vice President, Real Estate. In this role, Ryan oversees all aspects related to our real estate strategy and operations, and is pivotal in shaping the company’s growth and operational efficiency. Outside of PetSmart, he serves on the International Council of Shopping Centers board of trustees and is also passionate about animal welfare.
Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University. He lives in Phoenix with his wife and their black rescue cat named “Cat”.
Jim Persinger
President of PetSmart CanadaJim Persinger, President of PetSmart Canada, first joined PetSmart in June 2015 as VP of Global Sourcing where he established the company’s first direct sourcing team and international sourcing offices. Prior to joining PetSmart, he held several leadership roles at Payless ShoeSource where he was responsible for leading Asian sourcing operations and international development efforts to expand Payless’s retail footprint in Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia. Earlier in his career, he held various buying and marketing positions in the U.S. and Japan.
Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Kansas State University. He and his family are pet parents to two rescue cats: Jupiter and Cosmo.
Brent Schippers
Senior Vice President of Finance and StrategyBrent Schippers, SVP of Finance and Strategy, first joined PetSmart in 2015 as Vice President of FP&A, ePMO, and Advanced Analytics. Prior to PetSmart, he served as Managing Director/Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation for Build-A-Bear Workshop. He also held various positions at Payless ShoeSource and Collective Brands, including Director of Corporate Merchandise Planning and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
Brent graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, later earning his Master of Business Administration. He is an active volunteer at his local church, and the coach of a little league baseball team. Brent and his family have three dogs, two guinea pigs, two hermit crabs and five fish.
