Weeklong Effort Focuses on Giving Back to the Communities Where PetSmart Associates Live and Work
PHOENIX – Oct. 8, 2018 – PetSmart’s 55,000 associates across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico are coming together this week to give back during the company’s enterprise-wide week of volunteering. PetSmart’s Week of Service begins today and goes through Sunday, Oct. 14. During this time, PetSmart associates from the company’s stores, distribution centers and home offices will participate in a variety of different volunteer projects including building habitats, grooming pets awaiting adoption, walking shelter dogs and cleaning up facilities.
“Giving back isn’t just about dollars and cents; it’s also about giving our time,” said Gregg Scanlon, senior vice president of Store Operations and Services. “Our passionate, dedicated associates are the heart of our business, and PetSmart’s Week of Service provides them with an opportunity to care for the communities where we live and work.”
PetSmart’s Week of Service volunteer initiative will support organizations focused on supporting the bond between people and pets, enriching lives through arts, culture and education, celebrating diversity and inclusion and promoting understanding.
