Almost a year after they were adopted by different families, six dachshund puppies from the same litter were reunited at PetSmart for their first birthday. Last spring in Mississauga, Ont., store leaders Sara and Kyle held a party for the pups, who found their forever families during National Adoption Weekend last year.
Puppies Callie, Findley, Desmond, Tyson, Chloe and Winnie celebrated the occasion with their pet parents, store associates, and the store’s adoption partner, Paw & Tails. Kyle was excited for his team to come together to host the party.
“The party was truly inspired by the passion our associates have around our adoption programs and specifically our adoption partner, Shirley at Paws & Tails,” Kyle said. “We’ve hosted multiple birthday parties here before, so it was just natural for us to throw one for these puppies!”
While the puppies enjoyed a dog-friendly ice cream cake, pet parents were treated to coffee, homemade treats and Timbits. Once they had their fill of cake, the puppies played with their siblings, while pet parents shared stories about their dogs. Each family left with a goodie bag filled with treats and coupons.
