Whether it’s a pandemic or a natural disaster, the best way to keep pets safe during an emergency is to prepare ahead of time. During National Pet Preparedness Month earlier this summer, associates at PetSmart stores across North America hosted a pet food and supply drive to help local animal welfare organizations prepare for a safe summer.
PetSmart customers purchased and donated dry or wet dog and cat food and items like water bowls, toys and collars in stores. Associates then delivered the supplies to nearby animal welfare organizations assisting pets in need. In total, PetSmart received more than 530,000 donations to donate to more than 2,000 animal welfare organizations.
